ECOMMERCE WEBSITE DESIGN

Cultivating an online floral farm experience.

Botanic Haus is a concept ecommerce website created for a family-owned flower farm. The design focuses on building an inviting digital presence where visitors can shop seasonal bouquets, discover the farm’s rich history and deep community roots, and take part in experiences like floral workshops and U-Pick events.

Design objectives.

  • Design a modern, mobile-friendly ecommerce platform for floral sales and subscriptions.
  • Highlight the farm’s history, family heritage, and values.
  • Incorporate experiential features (workshops, U-Pick, events) to build community connection.
  • Create a design that feels both warm and trustworthy, appealing to everyday customers as well as eco-conscious buyers.

Approach.

The design balances rustic charm with modern ecommerce functionality:
  • Banners: Large, atmospheric imagery paired with seasonal promotions to set the mood and drive immediate action.
  • Featured Bouquets Section: Product grid with pricing and quick-access links, styled for clarity and easy comparison.
  • Subscriptions CTA: Clear value proposition for weekly deliveries, encouraging repeat business.
  • Experiential Sections: U-Pick, workshops, and event information to extend the brand beyond online shopping.
  • Brand Storytelling: Family-owned heritage emphasized with vintage-style photography and hand-lettered accents.
  • Color & Typography: Neutral tones with organic accents, paired with elegant serif + modern sans-serif fonts to reflect both tradition and modernity.

Key features.

  • Ecommerce shop with seasonal bouquets, subscriptions, and add-on products.
  • Custom product cards styled as plant tags for a distinctive, garden-inspired look.
  • U-Pick and Workshops pages to encourage local engagement and learning.
  • Farm Heritage Section with archival photos and storytelling for authenticity.
  • Newsletter Signup to grow community and nurture long-term customers.
  • Mobile-first responsive design for easy browsing and shopping on the go.
  • Tabbed content sections (Details, Care Instructions, Gift Ideas, Reviews) for organized and easy-to-scan information.

The result.

Botanic Haus delivers an ecommerce experience that’s as thoughtful as it is beautiful. The site makes it easy for customers to shop sustainably grown florals while connecting them to the farm’s story and values. By blending product sales with experiences, heritage, and education, this design shows how a flower farm can thrive both online and offline.

Designing Botanic Haus reinforced the importance of merging brand storytelling with ecommerce functionality. I learned how to structure a homepage that balances product promotion with community features, and how design choices—like typography, photography, and calls-to-action—can shape both trust and emotional connection. This project gave me the chance to experiment with integrating sustainability and heritage into a modern digital shopping experience.
